Dr. Timothy Resuta combines an exceptional education, extensive clinical experience, and personal dedication to improve his patients’ dental health.
Dr. Resuta grew up in Pennsylvania and attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he majored in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1994. During dental school he completed hospital internships at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and the Veterans Administration Medical Center Philadelphia. After graduating from Penn, he maintained a private dental practice in center city Philadelphia for nine years and held a hospital appointment at Pennsylvania Hospital on the active Medical Staff.
While maintaining his full-time private practice and his hospital privileges, Dr. Resuta received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from The Widener University School of Law, with a primary focus on Health Care Law and Medical/Dental Malpractice Law. He remained at his full-time dental practice and also became a consultant for a prominent Philadelphia Medical Malpractice firm.
In 2003 Dr. Resuta and his family moved to Atlanta where he purchased the dental practice of Dr. O. Anderson Currie. Dr. Resuta instantly connected with his patients and enjoyed the sense of community established by Dr. Currie. With his expertise in cosmetic and implant dentistry and commitment to patient-focused care, Dr. Resuta quickly established himself as one of the top dentists in Atlanta. Dr. Resuta has extensive training in cosmetic, reconstructive, and implant dentistry and has completed hundreds of continuing education (C.E.) hours in postgraduate dentistry. Much of his C.E. now focuses on the highly acclaimed Spear Education and CEREC Curriculum, both taught at the Scottsdale Center for Advanced Dentistry. Additionally, he is actively involved in the Atlanta chapter of the prestigious Seattle Study Club, where he has held the position of faculty advisor for the past two years. Dr. Resuta is dedicated to the newest advancements in dentistry and keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies. While fully committed to his cosmetic and implant dental practice, he still finds time to provide malpractice consultations and expert witness services to attorneys on a limited basis.
Outside of his dental practice, Dr. Resuta is actively involved in the local community. He has volunteered at The Good Samaritan Health Center for over five years and is an avid supporter of Young Life Africa. He and his wife Maria both sponsor and support local charities and organization such as Road Safe America, CURE Childhood Cancer, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Compassion International, the Chastain Park Civic Association, Spotlight on Art, the Fernbank Museum, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta History Center.
Dr. Resuta enjoys spending time with his wife and three children–together they travel, hike, run, ski, and snowboard. The family also spends a lot of time at the soccer fields!
Dr. Jacob Truan is able to provide outstanding care for his patients through his passion for dentistry, comprehensive skill set and commitment towards patient satisfaction.
Dr. Truan grew up in Augusta, Georgia and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia in 2005, earning his B.S. in Biology. Dr. Truan received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the Medical College of Georgia in 2012. After graduating dental school, he continued his education by gaining acceptance into the General Practice Residency at Georgia Regents University. As a resident, Dr. Truan received advanced training in IV sedation, implant placement and restoration, surgical extraction including wisdom teeth, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, root canal therapy, etc.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Buckhead Business Association. Continuing education is of upmost importance for Dr. Truan. As an active member of the Spear Study Club, Dr. Truan is able to continuously increase his knowledge of new and improving techniques and materials.
Dr. Truan is also an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at Augusta University. He enjoys donating his time by supervising and passing along his knowledge to residents in the General Practice Residency.
When not working, Dr. Truan enjoys spending time with his wife and 4-year-old daughter. His family attend Passion City Church. Through their church’s various local outreach programs, Dr. Truan is able to give back to his community. He also enjoys health and fitness through running, exercising, racquetball and golf. Fall is Dr. Truan’s favorite season for many reasons, but mostly because he and his family spend many Saturdays in Athens cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
Dr. Shelli Funt graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry and then completed a General Practice Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. After practicing in New York and then South Carolina, she and her husband relocated to Atlanta.
Dr. Shelli Funt aims to provide comprehensive oral care in a comfortable setting by easing her patients’ fears and encouraging them to smile. She believes bedside manner is as important as the care she delivers. She strives for a patient’s understanding of treatment and works to provide the most current care available. Dr. Funt is passionate about dentistry and enjoys making people smile.
Dr. Funt grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania earning a B.A. in Biological Basis of Behavior. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry and went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. In her residency, she was trained in all aspects of dentistry with a focus on full mouth rehabilitation, pediatrics and oral surgery. She is also a trained and board certified Invisalign provider.
She feels passionately about giving back to the community and volunteers at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Atlanta Spear Study Club.
Dr. Funt and her husband enjoy walking the Beltline, exploring the Atlanta food scene, and seeing live music. She loves cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Gabrielle Going is devoted to providing gentle and compassionate care to her patients. She loves being able to help patients with her artistic talent and strives for excellence in patient care. She loves getting to know her patients and loves spending time educating her patients. It is Dr. Going’s passion to help her patients achieve optimum oral health and to make her patients smile beautiful and healthy for years to come.
Dr. Going was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She went to the University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate degree where she received a Bachelor of Art in Studio Art and Pre-Health studies. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia), where she was on the Dean’s list. She was awarded the Connie Drisko Memorial Scholarship and was also awarded the Golden Molar Award for having the highest academic average in her class on Pre-Clinical Operative (hands on) Practical exams.
Dr. Going also has a passion to serve those less-fortunate. She went to Haiti on a Dental Mission trip in 2018, and served at the Georgia Mission of Mercy in 2015 and 2018. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the R.V. Tucker Gold Onlay Study Club.
In her free time Dr. Going loves oil painting, watching Notre Dame football in the fall, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
